Commercial Power Scheduler
The position's main responsibilities are to analyze, prepare, verify and send out electricity, feed gas, and LNG cargo schedules; including monitoring and maintaining short-term forecasts and price data, generating required schedules for submission, and tracking performance of submitted schedules.
Essential Functions & Duties/Responsibilities:
Power load and feed gas forecasting, pipeline nominations and cargo scheduling.
Day to day coordination with project Retail Electricity Provider (REP) and Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE) to manage load forecasting, schedule submission, on-site gas turbine generator schedules and invoicing.
Communicate forecast and schedule adjustments to customers, the REP and QSE.
Actively monitor, maintain and analyze daily and monthly reports working closely with terminal operations gas control team.
Assist with the preparation of the LNG cargo Annual Delivery Program (ADP) and the day to day cargo scheduling needs, including interaction with operations, ship agents and independent surveyors to ensure all necessary paperwork and communications are met.
Assist with the development and documentation of forecasting, scheduling and settlement policies and procedures as well as the related software tools which are used in the forecasting, scheduling and settlement functions.
Ad Hoc projects and reporting, as assigned by the Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to interpret and maintain in-depth understanding of key commercial agreements.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must be flexible, inquisitive and able to thoroughly understand bulk power system dynamics.
Must be able to remain calm in stressful conditions and make rational decisions.
General knowledge of computer operations required.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly excel)
Ability to prioritize effectively, multi-task when necessary
Ability to secure resources and information to get the job done
Ability to work effectively on short notice and off- hours
Willingness to cross-train in other positions within the Commercial Department, if required.
Bachelors degree, minimum of 2 years of work experience in power load analytics and/or power load scheduling in the Texas ERCOT market; demonstrable advanced excel experience (including VB and macros)
Bachelors degree, 3+ years of work experience in power load analytics and/or power load scheduling in the Texas ERCOT market; significant familiarity with the natural gas/midstream supply chain; demonstrable advanced excel experience (including VB and macros)
