Overview:

A hydro tester, often referred to as a hydrostatic testing technician, is responsible for testing the integrity of various structures such as pipelines, tanks, and fittings by using water or air pressure to detect leaks and assess structural soundness. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of safety procedures.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Installation and Setup: Install fittings on objects to seal outlets and connect them to high-pressure air or water lines using hand tools.
• Pressure Testing: Activate air compressors or water pumps to reach specified internal pressures.
• Leak Detection: Observe gauges for pressure loss and examine objects for escaping air or water to identify leaks.
• Marking and Repair: Mark the source of leaks for subsequent repair and may apply soap solutions or immerse objects to facilitate leak detection.
• Compliance Testing: Test objects under high pressure to ensure they meet safety standards
