Overview:
Under general supervision, develops and performs Quality Assurance/Quality Control audits based on quality system standards such as ISO 9000.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Assesses and documents the compliance to such systems based on the quality system standards. Identifies improvement opportunities based on audit. Performing vendor audits to improve incoming supplies. Planning, directing, and providing technical support for testing and design in materials engineering activities. Providing technical support to operations in the areas of nondestructive examination and Welding Engineering. May be involved with a team performing quality inspections on products according to engineering drawings, specifications, prescribed methods, and instructions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Managing Change
2. Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
3. Internal Auditing
4. Experience interpreting industry standards (ISO 9001, AS9100, API Q1, etc)
